Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Blue pen-flourished initials on a red background, red plain initials, red capitals and titles, black capitals colour-stroked in red.
Staffs consist of 4 lines, of which one is red. Hufnagel notation.

Host Volume
The fragment was used as a cover for a register of rents. There is a first annotation by a later owner in the upper margin (fol. 1): 'Registre des cens [...] la recepte de Melemont appartenans a monsieur [...] 1644'.There's also a second annotation by a later owner in the outer margin (fol. 2v): "Provient des 'Etablissements religieux" n° 3936'. The farm of Mellemont, in Perwez, belonged to the abbey of Villers and the register may have a Villers connection.
