Calendar leaf (for June) from a fifteenth-century Book of Hours, with a foliate border in gold, blue, pink, and orange. Major feasts written in gold.

Leaf has been cleanly cut from a Book of Hours; there is no evidence of previous binding, nor of pricking. 

Book Decoration and Musical Notation

Description

Large KL initial and foliate rectangular border in gold, blue, pink and orange, with major feasts in gold. The large KL has gold, blue, and red leaves running down the left side of the recto.
