Part of the lower outer margin of fol. 42 is missing, while most of the outer column of fol. 47 has been trimmed away. Fol. 47 also contains several large holes, which have caused text loss to col. B especially.

Across the fragment, several inscriptions in several different early modern hands are visible.

Plain initials, alternately in red and blue ink. Red colour stroking. Guide letters visible in some places.

History

Provenance

Fragment was discovered by Karel De Flou at the State Archives at Bruges, who attended Léonard Willems on the matter. The fragment was then possibly held by Willems until his death in 1938. Willems' archive was transferred to the Koninklijke Academie voor Nederlandse Taal en Letteren in that year, this fragment was possibly part of this collection.

Remarks

Fragment was used as cover for a register of the goods of St Michael's Church (Roeselare). When the host volume was restored in the 18th century, the fragment was removed from the host volume and transferred to the State Archives at Bruges.
