General Information
Main text written in an irregular form of textualis libraria which tends towards a currens typology (Littera Parisiensis?) and contains frequent use of abbreviations. Script is rather small despite the (original) space available. 2-compartment a; only round d in use; 8-shaped g with a short and closed tail; shaft of t cuts across the horizontal bar; round s used only at word-end; x in three strokes consisting of a vertical shaft and two short, horizontal strokes at the top right and bottom left quarters. 2-shaped r after round stroke and biting are common throughout.
Initials are written about 4mm from the beginning of each line and have been filled-in (occasionally) with red ink. Among them, A stands out with an Uncial shape completed with a horizontal approach stroke that meets the top of the shaft forming a right angle. Two large, decorated initials in blue with red decorations are found on fo 1v7-8 and 2r5-6.
The pages are crammed with interlinear and, specially, marginal annotations in cursive script from different, later dates. However, most of these insertions appear to be the work of a single hand operating shortly after the main text was copied. Even though red paraph marks are used ahead of many of the verses, they must have been added along with the late annotations. Their shape is notably similar to that of the paraphs in the marginalia, and some were carelessly added over decorated initials (see fos. 1v10 and 2r7). Arguably the same red ink was used to circle and underline some of the annotations, as well as to underline parts of the main text.
