History

Provenance

Host volume was gifted by one Walter de Haltere to the Abbey of the Dunes (Koksijde) around the 13th or 14th century (provenance mark on fol. 143v: 'Liber magistri Walteri de Haltere').

Host volume was later owned by one frater Jacobus Scot, a monk at the Abbey of the Dunes during this time (provenance mark on fol. 144v: 'Liber Beate Marie de Dunis sub fratre Jacobo Scot'), before being communally owned by the Abbey of the Dunes (provenance mark on fol. 144v: 'Iste liber est ecclesie beate Marie de dunis / Si quis ecclesiam abstuderit mathema sit').

The library of the Abbey of the Dunes was confiscated under French rule in 1796, and its books, such as the host volume, were transferred to the municipal libraries of Brugge.
