History
The musical notation suggests a German origin. The manuscript may be German, like the host book, printed in Wittenberg.
A genealogy of Saxon kings copied in the 17th c. on the rear flyleaves of the host volume further suggests that the book was used in the Wittenberg area (Sachsen-Anhalt). Probationes pennae spelling the name of "Ioannes B. J." on rear flyleaf. A genealogy of Carolingian and Ottonian emperors was also copied on the front flyleaves.
The book belonged to the Jesuit College of Cluj in 1765, and then to the Royal "Lyceum" of Cluj in 1833. After 1948 it was transfered to the Academy Library.
