This initial begins the Introit for the Common of Apostles, 'Michi autem nimis honorati sunt amici tui deus ...' (Great reverence have I for thy friends, O God).
This image shows the original recto of a leaf of a bifolium from a gradual. It contains part of the Gradual of a votive Mass for the Virgin Mary. 
This image shows an opening of a bifolium with an historiated initial from a gradual.
Lewis E M 69:6-8 are from the same manuscript. Lewis E M 69:8 was, however, illuminated by another artist.
