Reconstruction Summary
This fragment was taken from a bookbinding of a Mondsee manuscript (Wien, ÖNB, Cod. 3751). It represents a list of monks and their responsibilities during the liturgy. Some are appointed as lectores, other as cantatores, other again as sermitores. The list names specifically: Christoferus, Marcus, Beorius, Benedictus, Egiolus, Sigismundus, Georius (?), Leopoldus, Leonhardus, Erasmus, Adalgarius, Placidus. Most of them are recorded as monks at the end of the 15th or beginning of the 16th c. (see “Die Mönche von Mondsee vom Ende des XIV. Jahrhundertes bis zur Aufhebung 1791, bezw. ihrem Aussterben 1833,” in: Archiv für die Geschichte der Diözese Linz, Linz 1904, p. 152f.).
