Reconstruction Summary
The borders of the recto and verso contain illuminated rinceaux on three sides superimposed over each other. Both also contain a small illuminated initial "A" in Ave, followed in the next line by a larger illuminated initial "Et". On the recto additional rinceaux sprout from the initials. Incomplete lines contain a bar design. The skin side is visibly on the recto, the hair the verso. The leaf has jagged edges where it was cut from the codex, especially on the bottom. Tape is present from Ege's matting on the outer edge of the recto, and has discolored the parchment underneath on the verso. Although mostly in French "Ave Maria" or "Ave Maria gratia plena" is written in Latin at the end of each Joy. Inc./Exp.: ...vous eustes au jour de lassencion... /...il par sa grace nous vueille get... (Claire Elizabeth Serafin, Boston (United States))
