Reconstruction Summary

...Quoniam ipse evellet/a quo trepidabo...

The leaf fragment comes from the 15th-Century Book of Hours entitled "The St. Alexis Hours". The margins are decorated with roundels and colorful decorative elements: acanthus leaves, rinceaux, trees, birds, and other plant elements. On Both of the roundels depicts a figure with red robes labeled "pere." He is alone on the recto. On the verso, a man in blue, labeled "messa[n]g[er]", kneels before the "pere" (presumably Alexis' father). The man in blue wears simple tights while the man in red is dressed more regal, potentially with ermine. The leaf can be found in Salt Lake City, Utah's Museum of Fine Arts shelfmarked UMFA1996.15.3
