<collation>One sexternio. The fact that the text ends abruptly on f. 12v, and the presence of the catchword "laboret" at the bottom of the same page shows that the quire used to belong to a full codex. Like early printed editions, the original manuscript possibly consisted of Bohicus' Distinctiones on the third book of Decretales. Thus, this is the first quire of the original manuscript.</collation>

<origin>The manuscript was probably copied in Germany after 1370 (cf. Dincă). </origin>
<provenance>In the Middle Ages, the manuscript belonged to the former Benedictine abbey of Erfurt ("Peterskirche", Sts Peter and Paul's church): "liber sancti petri in erfordia" (f. 1r, s. XIV).
The book was purchased by the Romanian scholar Timotei Cipariu (1805-1887) in the 19th c. (stamp on f. 1r). It was transferred from Blaj to Cluj after 1948, after the suppression of the Greek-Catholic Church.</provenance>
