<origin>The manuscript may have been copied in the diocese of Chur, Switzerland, where it was owned in the 13th c. </origin>
<provenance>In the Middle Ages, the book belonged to the diocese of Chur, Switzerland: "liber sancti lucii regis et confessoris" (s. XIII, f. 1r). St. Lucius was the first bishop, and is the patron saint of the diocese of Chur.
The book was purchased by the Romanian scholar Timotei Cipariu (1805-1887) in the 19th c. (stamp on f. 1r). It was transferred from Blaj to Cluj after 1948, after the suppression of the Greek-Catholic Church.</provenance>
